New CEO for Melton Mowbray Town Estate

We are delighted to announce that Dean Rees has been appointed as Melton Mowbray Town Estate’s new chief executive officer.

Our chair, Graham Bett, welcomed Dean, saying, “Dean brings with him a wealth of experience and commercial acumen and will be focusing on the town centre market, increasing visitor footfall, bringing new events to the three town parks, and promoting our sports facilities at Sysonby Acres Leisure Park.”

Dean joins us with an impressive track record in revitalising event and community spaces. He was behind the award-winning success of East of England Arena and Events Centre, taking it from a local showground to a popular venue for antique fairs, automotive events, live music festivals, sporting events, and speciality food festivals. Rees has also worked as international sales director for Reed Exhibitions, in business development for Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and as events manager for The National Maritime Museum.

“Dean will be working with the board, local partners, and other organisations to develop a range of new ideas, boost the variety and quality of events for local residents, and bring new visitors and revenue into the town,” Graham concluded.

Dean has secured several new event bookings for the Town Estate and has many other developments already in the pipeline.

Dean explained, “Having lived in Melton Mowbray for almost four years, the success of the Town Estate is close to my heart. There is so much potential to make the town an even more vibrant and successful place to live and visit; my role is to make this happen using the Town Estate’s resources and working with local partners. There is an exciting challenge ahead of us, and I have already met many people and organisations who will be instrumental in helping us make this happen.”
